Arcee, the roaming robot

Course: DBB200 Creative Electronics
Type: Mini-project (Petr Dobiáš, Joanna Pomorska)
Date: April 2022
Duration: ~3 weeks

Significance: Electronics knowledge, Robotics, Arduino, Fusion 360, 3D printing

Arcee is a robotic vehicle designed to avoid obstacles. Its purpose is to drive peacefully on its own without hitting anything. When approaching an obstacle, Arcee detects it and manoeuvres to avoid it. During this process, it produces sounds according to its movement.

The project's objective was apply the knowledge gained from the course by designing and building an arbitrary electronic device. I decided to take this a bit further and designed a small, fully functioning robotic vehicle around the Arduino-based breadboard circuit. Arcee is thus the only robot of its kind currently in existence.
